At
Karmand community centre we thrive to provide the best possible
education for the local community. Our courses cover many different
areas. Computing, Word processing, Electronics, Boxing, Badminton,
Karate, Kick Boxing, Crafts & design, Dress Making, Fashion,
English & Maths and many more.
Some of the courses have a
nationally recognised qualifications such as GCSE, A-Level, NCFE
and much more.
Our facilities are available
from 9am till 10pm Monday to Friday, some of the activities take
place during the weekend, and these are displayed on our notice
boards from time to time.
Most of our courses are free,
some have a little fee which is only payable if you are working.
People on benefits are not required to pay these fees. Exam fees
are payable by all students, but only if you wish to take the
exam.
Disabled Facilities
We have special disabled facilities, these include:
• Disabled Car Park
• Ground Floor Wheelchair Access
• Disabled Toilets
Creche Facilities
Provided for children 2-5 years of age. These places are limited
and are available on first come first served basis.
Course Material
This can be downloaded from the Timetable screen. To download
the course material click on the name of the course for the relevant
day. A new Internet page will open with the details for the course
you require. This page will contain documents and support material
which you can download.The exact contents of the material will
vary from course to course, and some courses will have more material
than others.
If you require material for
a course which you were previously enrolled on, but is no longer
available then in some cases this might also be available. If
you cannot find this on the web site please contact
us, and we might be able to direct you in the right direction.
All the course material remains
the property of the person responsible for the preparation design
and compilation of the material. The downloads should only be
used for the purpose of study. The material should not in any
way be distributed without written permission of the relevant
persons.
