Badminton
along with many other sports activities such as tennis, snooker
and pool can be played by groups at any time during the evenings.
Badminton is a racket sport
played with a shuttlecock, a cork ball fitted with stabilising
feathers. Badminton requires speed, strength, power and nerve.
Players must move quickly from side to side and back and forth,
and stamina is important. Below is a picture of a badminton court.
Like with many other sports
activities at the centre we provide the main equipment. This includes
nets, ball, rackets etc.
At the Community Centre badminton
is an open sports activity where the players need to know about
rules procedures. No training or supervision is provided. So you
need to know a little bit about the sports, alternatively we have
leaflets and quick guide available for those who need to know
few rules quickly.
